Six service lines, each with its own test procedure, tooling and warranty terms. If a job falls outside this list — brakes, transmissions, body work — we will say so and point you to a shop we trust on Rochester Road rather than take the work.

01 — Air conditioning

A/C diagnosis & component repair

Weak cooling is a symptom, not a diagnosis. We start with a full performance test: high and low side pressures under controlled RPM, center-vent temperature against ambient humidity, compressor clutch or control-valve behaviour, condenser airflow and scan-tool data from the HVAC module.

Only then do we look for the cause — electronic sniffer, UV dye, nitrogen pressure hold, or all three on a slow seepage. Repairs we perform in-house:

Compressors, clutches, control valves and pulleys
Condensers, receiver-driers, accumulators and orifice tubes
Evaporators and expansion valves, including dash-out jobs
Hard lines, hoses, o-rings and service-port hardware
Pressure switches, relays, HVAC control heads and wiring faults

Performance test and leak search: $89, credited toward the repair if you approve it the same week.

02 — Refrigerant service

Recovery, evacuation & weighed recharge

Refrigerant is recovered into a machine, never vented. The system is then pulled into deep vacuum and held for a minimum of 20 minutes to confirm it is dry and sealed. Only a system that passes the hold test gets recharged, to the exact weight and oil specification printed on the underhood label.

03 — Heat & defrost

Heater, defrost and blend-door work

In Michigan a defroster is a safety system. We diagnose the whole heat path: coolant temperature and flow, thermostat behaviour, heater core restriction, blend and mode actuators, recirculation doors, blower speed control and the control head itself.

04 — Cabin air quality

Ventilation, filtration & odor removal

That damp, sour smell on the first cold start is biological growth on a wet evaporator, and air freshener will not touch it. We clean the evaporator case through the drain and filter housing with an enzyme treatment, clear the condensate drain, and replace the filter with a charcoal-media unit where the vehicle supports it.

05 — Engine cooling

Radiators, pumps & coolant chemistry

A/C condensers live in front of the radiator, so cooling faults and climate faults arrive together. We pressure test cold and hot, check fan command against actual fan behaviour, inspect for electrolysis in the coolant, and use the chemistry your engine actually specifies — not a universal green jug.

06 — Hybrid & electric

Hybrid and EV climate systems

Electric compressors use high-voltage windings immersed in POE oil. A single ounce of conventional PAG oil can destroy the insulation, so hybrid and EV work runs on separate equipment with its own hoses and manifolds, and technicians follow a written high-voltage isolation procedure before a line is opened.

Seasonal programs

Two checks a year keeps the expensive failures away

Spring Cool-Down Check — $49

Vent temperature, pressure sweep, condenser airflow, belt and clutch inspection, cabin filter assessment and a leak scan. Booked March through May.

Fall Heat & Defrost Check — $49

Coolant condition and freeze point, heater output at idle and load, defrost airflow split, actuator sweep and hose inspection. Booked September through November.

Fleet Climate Plan

Per-vehicle service history, priority bays before 9:00 am, consolidated monthly invoicing and a named contact. Minimum three vehicles.
